AUTHORITIES arrested two men for allegedly brandishing a gun and causing a commotion in Purok 48, Sitio Malamboon, Barangay Malabog, Paquibato District on Sunday night.
Alias Joblin faces charges for illegal possession of a firearm, while alias Alexander was apprehended for alarm and scandal.
According to Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon, the incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 13 when a concerned citizen reported a commotion at a sari-sari store in the area.
Paquibato Police Station personnel, led by PSSg Romeo M. Bartolo II, and the 27th Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, led by SSg Rogelio M. Ducot, immediately responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, they arrested the two suspects along the barangay road. Law enforcers also recovered a Firestar Plus 9mm caliber pistol with serial number 101671-96, a magazine, five bullets, and one fired cartridge from Jobin, who could not produce papers for the gun.
Both suspects were taken to the Paquibato Police Station for filing of appropriate charges. Joblin will face a charge for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
