- PNP Crame twice rejected the reassignment of 64 PRO XI personnel
THE PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) headquarters denied anew the request of the Police Regional Office (PRO) XI to reassign a total of 64 police personnel, including officers and non-commissioned officers to Camp Crame.
On Tuesday, the PNP thumbed down the regional office’s request to reassign 19 of its personnel, including four officers and 15 non-commissioned officers.
A July 30 memorandum obtained by TIMES cited PNP Memorandum Circular No. 2024-001 as the basis for the denial.
In the memo, the 19 personnel consisted of one police lieutenant colonel and a major, both were previously relieved station commanders, and three captains, all from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).
The non-commissioned officers consisted of one executive master sergeant, two senior master sergeants, five staff sergeants, four corporals, and one patrolman.
The circular stipulated that only personnel from the National Headquarters (NHQ) could be reassigned to the Administrative Holding Section of the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU) at Camp Crame.
With that, PRO XI personnel can only be reassigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (RPHAS).
The reason behind the reassignment request remains unclear.
PRO XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey stated that PRO XI director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III did not provide any information when asked about the matter.
In a recent interview with reporters, Torre was tightlipped when asked whether he intended to pursue the reassignments.
“I will address that at the appropriate time. It’s premature to comment as I am unaware if such an order will be issued,” the police regional director further said.
He said these are internal issues “that require no explanation unless those directly affected raise concerns.”
