THE LAND Transportation Office XI revealed plans to include a theoretical driving course in the curriculum for junior high and senior high school students.
During the AFP-PNP Press Corps on Wednesday, July 31, Yuri Lim, LTO XI Law Enforcement Section head, said the program will teach students the concept of defensive driving and road safety.
Lim said they are working closely with the Department of Education XI and private institutions to realize the goal. According to their plans, they will start with faculty members and cascade the lessons to the students.
“I believe ang pinaka-best na magtuturo sa atin in terms of school is ang teachers po talaga,” Lim said.
Additionally, Lim said that the program will give the students a headstart, especially when they apply for a student permit, a prerequisite for a driver’s license. He said students will receive the necessary certificate after completing the theoretical driving course.
