TF Davao and police seize over P400-K worth of drugs, arrest five suspects

THE TASK Force Davao and the Davao City Police Office apprehended five individuals at the three checkpoints in Sirawan, Lasang, and Lacson, on Monday, July 1.

The suspects were found in possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, and illegal drugs worth P409,604, according to Major John Louie Dema-ala, spokesperson for Task Force Davao. 

At 6:30 p.m., two individuals were apprehended at Sirawan Fixed Entry Point while traveling in private vehicles. They were found carrying .45 caliber pistols without serial numbers, live ammunition, and approximately 25.46 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P407,360.

Earlier, at 2 p.m., two others were arrested at the Lacson checkpoint in a wing van, carrying drug paraphernalia with residue.

The first arrest occurred at 6:20 a.m. at the Lasang entry point. A passenger on a public utility vehicle was found with approximately 0.33 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P2,244.

All five suspects have been turned over to local police stations for the filing of charges under Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
