THE CITY Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) proposed to close the Davao City Coastal Road along with some affected streets from Aug. 5-11 for the Kadayawan Festival activities and the IRONMAN 70.3.

CTTMO head Dionisio Abude said they expect heavy traffic caused by the events, which prompted them to look for solutions.

He said the roads to be closed include the Davao-Cotabato Road intersection, Bago Aplaya up to corner Talomo Road on August 5-8 as they prepare to install the needed infrastructure for the triathlon event.

Another 24-hour road closure will be enforced covering the Davao-Cotabato Road intersection to Punta Dumalag Road on Aug. 9 to give way for the Gwapa Dabawenya run course.

On Aug. 10, the CTTMO will close the Davao-Cotabato Road intersection and Bago Aplaya up to Tulip Ecoland Drive for IRONMAN Kids, which includes the bike and run course

Finally, on Aug. 11, beginning 3 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Davao-Cotabato Road intersection, Bago Aplaya up to the boundary of Sta. Cruz will be temporarily closed for the IRONMAN bike course. Only the northbound road will closed while the southbound will be converted into a two-way street for motorists.
