Tagum cop nabbed for robbing fashion store

A PATROLMAN was arrested after allegedly robbing a sales lady in a fashion store along Lapu-Lapu street, Barangay Magugpo, Tagum City, around 5:30 p.m. on March 9.

Lt. Col Edgardo Bernardo, officer-in-charge of Tagum Police Station, identified the suspect only as Patrolman Doria, a resident of Poblacion Bayugan, Agusan del Sur.

He was assigned to the Prosperidad Municipal Police Station.

Accordingly, the police received a report of a robbery that happened inside the said fashion store. Authorities also received another attempted robbery at another establishment along Arellano street.

Immediately, personnel of Tagum City Police Station, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and Tagum Civil Security Unit team acted on the report resulting in the policeman’s arrest. 

Investigation showed that the suspect tried to escape through the national highway but was chased down by the responding police officers. 

Recovered from his possession were his issued firearm Taurus T9 with 16 live ammunition, Philippine National Police (PNP) Identification card, a driver’s license, a cellular phone, and P5,090 cash reported looted from the store. 

The suspect is now under the custody of the Tagum City Police Station, facing a robbery case.
