Tagum City implemented a city-wide lockdown with the suspension of operations of mass transportation after Davao del Norte was placed under enhanced community quarantine beginning April 5.
In a statement released on Saturday, the city government said it will soon be releasing the official executive order on the measure.
During the city-wide lockdown, all vehicles passing through Tagum City will be escorted by authorities from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 a.m. on April 5.
Authorities will also ask for valid IDs.
Meanwhile, all public and private vehicles will no longer be allowed to enter or exit Tagum City starting 12:01 a.m. of April 6 until 11:59 of April 20, 2020.
Only allowed to pass through or travel are the COVID-19 Crisis Management and Response Team, medical/health workers, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, delivery/supply trucks, service vehicles of critical infrastructure or emergency vehicles provided that the personnel will present valid IDs.
Cargo and delivery trucks, meanwhile, are allowed to enter the city with the condition that drivers and helpers will not be allowed to leave their vehicles.
The drivers and passengers of the vehicles given an exemption to travel and pass through during the enhanced community quarantine and city-wide lockdown will still be subject to COVID-19 precautionary measures, such as the temperature check, at the designated surveillance stations of the city.
Last Thursday, April 3, Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Juhabib issued Executive Order No. 13 declaring the entire province of Davao del Norte, except the Island Garden City of Samal, under enhanced community quarantine.
The executive order included provisions mandating “extreme precautionary measures” to be strictly imposed in Tagum City, Panabo City, and the Municipality of Carmen.
As of April 4, Davao del Norte already has nine positive COVID-19 cases. Eight of these are from Tagum City, while one confirmed case is recorded in Panabo City. Currently, the province has 20 persons under investigation (PUIs) admitted at the Davao Regional Medical Center and a total of 239 persons under monitoring (PUMs).
