THE SOUTHERN Philippines Medical Center recently enforced a new policy covering dedicated watchers for intensive care unit (ICU) patients.
Ricardo B. Audan, SPMC Chief II, said watchers and relatives are allowed to visit ICU patients every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, limited to 15 minutes, either in the morning or afternoon schedule.
“‘Yan ang bagong hakbang na ginagawa ng SPMC. Nag-relax na rin kami sa COVID-19 for that matter,” Audan said.
Aside from that, Audan said the hospital plans to dedicate a new building for kidney and dialysis patients as they deal with long queues every day to access service.
“Ang SPMC talaga is for all Filipinos, specially the indigent, and yung mga pulubi,” he said.
With the lifting of the health emergency in the Davao Region, SPMC clarifies that swab tests are not a requirement anymore before admission as they only perform the tests for symptom-based illnesses.
