SPAIN EMERGED victorious after beating England 2-1 in the UEFA European Football Championship final in Berlin last Sunday.

With their win, La Roja now has the most Euro titles of any nation with 4, breaking their previous tie with Germany. They first won the tournament in 1964 and then consecutively in 2008 and 2012.

The game kicked off quietly with both nations ending the first half nil-nil. La Roja only started to gain traction in the second half with a goal from young star Nico Williams.

England was able to stand their ground as Cole Palmer scored a left-footed equalizer in the 73rd minute. However, the game was wrapped up with a flick-on goal from Mikel Oryazabal.

Spain sailed smoothly from the group stage to the final, winning all seven of their matches while conceding only four goals.

Williams was hailed Player of the Match while Rodri was named Player of the Tournament. Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old wonder who plays for FC Barcelona, was awarded Young Player of the Tournament.
