THE SPECIAL Office for Children’s Concern (SOCC) will conduct the 31st Citywide Children’s Congress on November 25 to 26 at the Grand Men Seng Hotel as part of the 2024 National Children’s Month in sustaining the promotion and protection of children’s rights.
The program will discuss the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) as well as the four fundamental rights of children, and a presentation on the laws of children.
The workshops will also identify children’s issues or concerns and present accomplishment reports.
SOCC has started conducting numerous events and activities for the 2024 National Children’s Month, which will run from Nov 1 to 30. The activities include the Serbisyo Caravan Para sa Pamilya at Kabataan and also amplifying awareness for programs benefitting kids.
Consorcia Ronquillo, SOCC in-charge, encouraged the public to wear blue shirts every Friday during the month-long celebration to support the #BlueKadaBiyernes campaign.
In the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) memorandum circular, dated Aug. 8, 2024, the campaign aims to inspire Filipino children to learn and advocate for their rights.
The upcoming activities will include a Nutrition School on Air by the Davao City Disaster Radio, a job fair at Barangay Marilog Proper Barangay Gym, Caravan mobile registrations, and a book parade for daycare children.
