SM LANANG officially revealed the mall’s designated shopping pal, Lala, in a launch ceremony held last Thursday, July 18, at the mall’s atrium
“We wanted to create a character that will add whimsy and playfulness to the mall – something emblematic of the kind of destination that SM Lanang has become throughout the years, and reflective of the evolving lifestyles and modern aspirations of our shoppers and guests,” shared senior assistant Vice President for Marketing-Mindanao Russel Alaba during the program.
As the curtains were unveiled, a stylish 20-foot feline donning a chic “windblown” scarf and a pair of Jackie O sunglasses appeared before the crowd, seemingly ready to conquer a world of endless discoveries and shopping experiences.
“Today, a new icon that will soon become a beloved figure here at SM Lanang. Fun, loving, and adventurous, this globe-trotting icon encapsulates everything special about SM Lanang”, said Engr. Nick D. Santos, SM Supermall’s assistant VP of operations for Mindanao.
Lala had her first encounter with shoppers at the mall’s three-day sale from July 19 to 21. SM Lanang will soon be sharing more information on Lala’s adventures on their Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X accounts.
The program, hosted by Mutya ng Dabaw 2024 Hannah Maj Piccio, also featured production numbers rendered by the Muzic Skool Voice Teens.
