
A HEAD-ON collision involving two Toyota Hilux pickup trucks along the Davao-Bukidnon National Highway in Sitio Pagan, Barangay Marilog, Marilog District, resulted in multiple injuries at 5:50 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025.
According to the report, a Toyota Hilux with plate number AAG 8858, registered to Dole Phils Inc. Stanfilco, driven by 44-year-old Michael Berdos Olaco of Mabini, Davao de Oro, was heading to Bukidnon from Davao City.
Upon reaching a descending and curved portion of Sitio Pagan, Barangay Tamugan, the left front side of the vehicle was allegedly struck by an encroaching Toyota Hilux with plate number NAC 2701, registered to Monera P. Ameril, driven by 34-year-old Walid Rajamura Salindawan of Margasatubig, Zamboanga Del Sur.
According to authorities, Salindawan admitted to falling asleep while driving, leading to the collision. As a result of the impact, five passengers from both vehicles sustained injuries.
Four passengers from the Dole Phils Inc. vehicle were identified as Elah Mae Sayud, 25; Yadah Elle Robles Sayud, 1; Yllana Eida Robles Sayud, 3 months; all residents of Valencia, Bukidnon; and Chinee D. Robles, 32, a resident of Panabo City.
They were immediately transported by a responding 911 ambulance to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for medical treatment.
One passenger from the vehicle driven by Salindawan, identified as Ibra Gampong Pangcatan, declined medical assistance from the 911 personnel.
The driver of the second vehicle is currently under the custody of the Marilog Police Station for filing of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
