VICE PRESIDENT Sara Duterte called the hearings conducted in the House of Representatives regarding the budget of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) as “politically motivated.”
During a press conference in Bacolod City on Nov. 11, 2024, VP Sara said the hearings started last year, focusing initially on the confidential funds of the OVP.
She acknowledged that there were discussions between the Makabayan Bloc and House Speaker Martin Romualdez, which were posted on social media, and since then, attempts have been made to attack the OVP’s budget.
The vice president also mentioned that certain groups are trying to find grounds for her removal, despite the absence of evidence showing any wrongdoing.
“They just want to damage the integrity and dignity of the Office of the Vice President,” the Vice President said.
