THE ROTARY Club of Downtown Davao (RCDD) celebrated its Rotary Christmas Fiesta 2024 joined by 100 learners with disabilities of District 2 to showcase their talents in dancing, singing, and artwork at the SM Annex Event Center on Dec 11.
In its 3rd annual event, this year’s event is themed “Children are the Magic of Christmas!” and aims to share joy and love with the learners from District 2. RCDD partnered with SM City Davao and the Department of Education XI Davao City (DepEd) for the event dedicated to celebrating learners with the spirit of Christmas.
In an interview with RCDD president Anthony John Modiquello, the children will be given support through assessments to provide them interventions depending on their needs aside from the gift-giving activity during the celebration.
During the Kapehan sa Dabaw on Dec 9, RCDD public image chair Patmei Ruivivar shared that the learners are also beneficiaries of DepEd XI. She added that the annual Rotary Christmas Fiesta was made to provide the children with a platform to celebrate during the Pasko Fiesta as well as highlight awareness for them.
“Pag magpa Pasko Fiesta sa Davao, hindi naman sila nakakasali yung ating mga learners with disabilities nakakacompete duon sa mga regular Pasko Fiesta na contest. So, ang Rotary Club of Davao ginawa itong Rotary Christmas Fiesta for them,” Ruivivar said.
Last year’s Rotary Christmas Fiesta, RCDD celebrated with District 1’s learners to give them a spotlight in becoming the stars of the Christmas season.
