Davao station commanders get new assignments ahead of BKSE 2023

POLICE station commanders were reshuffled on Saturday, Oct. 14, as a preventive measure against possible influence-peddling for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on Oct. 30. 

Davao City Police Office chief Alberto Lupaz, together with staff officers, headed the turnover of command ceremony for the station commanders and unit officers around 11 p.m. at the DCPO Sandigan Hall, Camp Captain Domingo E. Leonor along San Pedro Street.

Major Robel Saavedra was replaced by Major Jake Goles as the acting commander of the Bunawan Police Station (PS 6).

Major Alberto Abella replaced Major Ricky Obenza as the Calinan Police Station (PS 10) commander.

Abella, the former commander of Los Amigos Police Station (PS 9), will be replaced by Major Marc Hedsel Culaste, of the San Pedro Police Station (PS 2).

Both Saavedra and Obenza will be transferred to the Office of the City Director (OCD).

The spokeswoman explained that station commanders assigned to the OCD are still waiting for their new assignments. 

Also, the new acting commander of Sasa Police Station (PS 4) will be Major Carol Jabagat, the former commander of Tugbok Police Station (PS 9).

Replacing Jabagat was Major Jimmy Evangelista, the former chief of Baliok Police Station (PS 17).

Other current station commanders are Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Lao, the Sta. Ana Police Station (PS 1) chief; Major Marvin Hugos, commander of San Pedro Police Station (PS 2); Major Rosario Aguilar, the Talomo Police Station (PS 3) commander; Buhangin Police Station (PS 5) commander Major Joenel Pederio; Major Jack Tilcag, commander of Paquibato Police Station (PS 7); and Captain Marlon Donquilab, the officer-in-charge of Toril Police Station (PS 8).

Major Mark Lester Jalon, commander of  Baguio Police Station (PS 11); Major Nelson Violan commander of Marilog Police Station (PS 12); Major Jose Rodrigo Mendoza, commander of Mandug Police Station (PS 13); Major Noel Villahermosa, commander of Ecoland Police Station (PS 15); Major Maria Teresita Gaspan, commander of Ma-a Police Station (PS 16); Major Romeo Mapanao Jr., commander of Baliok Police Station (PS 17); Major Antonio Luy, commander of Bajada Police Station (PS 18), and Eden Police Station (PS 19) commander Major Jonnel Bonguyan.

The other units were the mobile patrol, tourist police, traffic enforcement, foot and bike patrol, and the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Company.

Currently, Davao City has 20 police stations covering 244,000 hectares of territory.
