THE OVERSEAS Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) XI and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) XI have been alerted for the repatriation of affected Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Israel-Palestinian war.
Gina Mae Quimora, OWWA XI OIC, in an interview on Monday afternoon, said the repatriation teams have been prepared especially at the national headquarters for the repatriation of the affected Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Hamas-IDF conflict.
OWWA XI does not yet have official data on how many or if there are people from the Davao Region among the reported 200 OFWs currently in Gaza.
“No data as of now kung pila ang gikan sa Davao,” she said.
“Ang repatriation sa owwa is always ready para sa emergencies like aning gyera,” she added.
The official said that they are still waiting on the repatriation date from the national office. “Declaration of force repatriation lang ang pwede makapugos ta sa pagpauli sa mga ofws. Sa pagkakaron, wala pa man na gi declare,” Quimora added.
In the updated advisory of the DMW, they have closely monitored the situation of Filipinos in Israel who are in the State of War Alert based on the statement issued by the Israel Home Front Command.

According to CBS news, Israeli soldiers continued battling Hamas militants in the streets of southern Israel Sunday, while in the north of the country, they exchanged fire with Hezbollah militants launching rockets from Lebanon. Some Israeli communities along the Lebanon border were urged to evacuate.
Israeli officials confirmed early Monday that over 700 Israeli civilians and members of the military had died since Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel from Gaza early Saturday morning. Another 2,150 were wounded.
