Public school teachers in cities and provinces whose classes were declared suspended by their local government units “need not report to schools as they can work in their homes for their reports.”
The Department of Education (DepEd) XI has issued a directive to clarify issues concerning the suspension classes in some areas in the region as preventive measure against the COVID-19.
DepEd XI spokesperson Jenielito Atillo, in a Facebook post, said the directive issued by DepEd XI regional director Evelyn Fetalvero do not include “areas in the region where LGUs (Local Government Units) or DepEd did not suspend classes.”
“For now and until further instructions, school heads are required to report to schools. In the case of District Supervisors, they are also required to report wherever they are stationed,” the directive said.
Meanwhile, non-teaching personnel in the schools and district offices are required to report to their stations. School principals and public schools district supervisors (PSDSs) are encouraged to design a skeletal work scheme for them.
For private schools, on the other hand, attendance of teaching and non-teaching personnel to their stations will depend upon the decision of private school owners or officials.
