Public reminded: No pick-up policy at DCOTT continues

WITH THE approaching influx and congestion of commuters during the peak season of All Souls’ Day and the Yuletide season, authorities are once again reminding the public of the strict implementation of the “no pick-up” policy outside the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT).

DCOTT manager Aisa Usop

During the Davao Peace and Security press briefing held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday, Sept. 18, DCOTT manager Aisa Usop said they still received reports of provincial buses picking up or loading passengers outside the terminal, which is clearly prohibited under City Ordinance Number 110.

Usop said the purpose of the “no pick-up” policy is to ensure the safety and security of passengers, PUV conductors, and drivers against criminality.

Based on the Joint Administrative Order of 2022, violators of the no pick-up policy will be subject to fines and penalties.

The first offense carries a fine of P5,000, while the second offense has a fine of P10,000 and a 30-day unit impounding. The third offense will result in a fine of P15,000 and cancellation of the unit’s certificate of public convenience.

Authorities emphasized that public cooperation is vital to ensuring the effectiveness of this policy and the safety of all.
