THE 2024 Perlas ng Silangan Basketball League is set to start on August 10 at the Davao Recreational Sports Center (formerly known as Almendras Gym). Around 60 teams will compete in various age brackets, including 21-under, 19-under, 17-under, 16-under, 15-under, and 12-under.

Christian Formentos Robles, PSBL commissioner for Southern Mindanao, added more details during the Davao Sportswriter Association forum on July 4 at SM City Davao.

“These 60 teams will be joining different age group brackets such as the 21-under, 19-under, 17-under, 16-under, 15-under and 11-under. Aside from the Davao City qualifiers, we will also be having the Southern Cluster qualifiers to be held in Digos City and the Northern Cluster qualifier in Tagum City,” Robles said.

The PSBL commissioner for Southern Mindanao told TIMES on Thursday morning that they will not push through with the Digos Qualifiers. Instead, they will only have the Davao Qualifiers and Tagum Qualifiers.

The top two winners from each age group will then advance to the Regional Finals in October and then the top two squads will proceed to the National Finals which will be held in December.

Former PBA stalwart and now current PSBL national commissioner Rodney Santos will be in attendance to present and welcome the teams in the grand opening ceremonies.
