PRO XI ready for 2025 mid-term elections

THE POLICE Regional Office (PRO) XI increased its police visibility and patrol operations, including Comelec checkpoints and the deployment of special task forces to monitor and address potential threats in the 2025 mid-term elections.

PRO XI partnered with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to also include security preparations for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections.

In line with this, the PRO XI initiated a comprehensive security plan to ensure a secure, accurate, free, and fair election for the region, which will take place on May 12, 2025.

The initiative involves intensified coordination between local police units, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and other law enforcement bodies.

The security plan also includes increased police visibility and patrol operations, such as Comelec checkpoints, special task forces to monitor and address potential threats like political violence, vote-buying, and other election-related criminal activities, and comprehensive training and readiness programs for personnel to enhance their capability to respond swiftly to any security issues.

Moreover, the PRO XI is working closely with Comelec and various stakeholders to establish an environment where the electorate can confidently exercise their right to vote.

“Our top priority is ensuring public safety, while simultaneously maintaining order and peace throughout the election period,” it said.

PRO XI acting regional director, Brig Gen Leon Victor Rosete, encouraged the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities or violations to their local authorities.
