AUTHORITIES seized more than P2.5 million worth of illicit substances across Davao Region in a week-long operation.
From Oct. 21 to 27, 2024, the Police Regional Office (PRO) XI, under the leadership of acting regional director Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, conducted 59 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 75 individuals, including 11 high-value individuals (HVI) and 64 street-level individuals (SLIs).
One of the most significant arrests involved alias JP, a top regional-level HVI, who was apprehended in a joint operation in Mati City, Davao Oriental, on Oct. 22.
The following day, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI (PDEA XI), law enforcers dismantled a notorious drug den in Davao de Oro, resulting in the arrest of the province’s top drug personality, Ruel, along with three other HVIs.
The week-long operation yielded a total of 326.6886 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth P2,221,482.48, 209 hills of marijuana, and 2781.9 grams of marijuana plants valued at P375,628.00.
PRO XI credited its personnel, support agencies, and the community for the successful operations.
Meanwhile, Rosete said the regional police office remains steadfast in its mission to eradicate illegal drugs and dismantle drug syndicates in the region.
