PPCRV, Comelec XI: Final testing and sealing ‘successful’

THE RESCHEDULED final testing and sealing (FTS) of the automated counting machines (ACMs) in selected clustered polling precincts has been deemed successful.

Atty. Aileen Lizada, ACE-COM PPCRV spokesperson, said there were no alarming reports from the precincts during the conduct of FTS on Thursday, May 8.

The testing of automated counting machines continued on Thursday instead of Tuesday, March 6, due to the defective USB. The USB replacement arrived on Wednesday, May 7.

The voting centers include General Roxas Elementary School, Popo ES, Lacson Integrated School, J.V. Ferriols ES, Ramon Magsaysay ES, Crossing Bayabas National High School, Jesus V. Ayala, Alambre Elementary School, Quezon ES, San Isidro Integrated School, San Miguel Integrated School, Batolusa ES, Tugbo Central ES, Anecito Brabarona ES, Anecito Barbarona Elementary ES, and Gumitan ES.

Comelec-Davao assistant regional director Gay Enumerables said the FTS in the third district was intended to be rescheduled due to the distance of the voting centers from the tech hub.

Gi re-sched gyud to siya kay lagyo man gud, pagkuha pa lang daan sa tech hub mag take time na, maabtan jud og gabii,” she said.

The official added the reschedule ensures the safe conduct of FTS in far-flung areas.

All 1,173 ACMs were already delivered and stored in all voting centers, and are safeguarded by the watchers of political candidates along with the members of the Philippine National Police, ready for the election day on May 12.
