THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 129 individuals and confiscated over P1.4 million worth of illegal drugs in a week-long anti-criminality campaign from June 16 to 22.
Of the total apprehended individuals, 55 were drug personalities, the police said.
Acting under the leadership of Col Rolindo Suguilon, the DCPO conducted 40 anti-drug operations, resulting in the seizure of 204 grams of shabu (methamphetamine) and 32 grams of marijuana. The shabu alone is valued at P1.39 million.
The crackdown also targeted illegal gambling, leading to the arrest of 30 individuals and the confiscation of P7,430 in bet money across 11 operations.
In addition, the police apprehended 38 wanted individuals, including five most wanted persons, through 38 separate operations.
The campaign also led to the arrest of six people for illegal possession of firearms, with seven firearms confiscated, two voluntarily surrendered, and three turned in for safekeeping.
Col. Suguilon emphasized the DCPO’s commitment to upholding the rule of law, respecting human rights, and ensuring the safety and security of all Dabawenyos.
He also acknowledged the vital role played by barangay officials, the community, and the local government in the success of the operations.
The DCPO vowed to continue its intensified campaign against all forms of criminal activity in the city.
