A SECURITY guard was wounded after being stabbed by a driver in Barangay Lubogan, Toril, around 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Police suspect jealousy as the motive for the attack.
The victim was identified as Christopher (alias used for privacy), 33, a resident of Purok 3, Lubogan, Toril.
He was on duty with a witness, Anthony, when the suspect, identified as Eddie, 37, a resident of Purok 6, Saypon, Crossing Bayabas, Toril, Davao City, arrived at the scene.
According to the witness, Eddie appeared out of nowhere and suddenly stabbed Christopher twice in the upper left back. However, instead of escaping, the suspect stayed to wait and surrender to the responding police officers.
He is currently in police custody while the victim was rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for treatment.
Captain Hazel Caballero-Tuazon, spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), said investigators are looking at jealousy as the possible motive.
