THE PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) has assured compliance with Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 3-2025, prohibiting government employees, including PNP personnel, from engaging in partisan political activities during the campaign period for the mid-term elections on May 12, 2025.
Among the prohibited activities are liking, sharing, or commenting on political posts on social media—actions that may show support for or opposition to a candidate or party. These kinds of activities are now prohibited by law for all government workers, including uniformed personnel, to maintain the neutrality and integrity of public service during the elections.
In accordance with the guidance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who emphasized the importance of a neutral government, the PNP assured the public that it would strictly follow these policies. According to the President, civil servants must be impartial, especially during elections, to maintain public trust and ensure free and fair elections.
PNP Director General Rommel Francisco Marbil said, “The PNP continues to serve with professionalism and integrity. We assure that all PNP personnel will follow the guidelines of the CSC and avoid partisan politics. We are here to protect the people, not to choose sides.”
The PNP is focused on disseminating this directive to all its units nationwide. Violations will not be tolerated, and penalties such as suspension or dismissal from service will be implemented following CSC rules.
As the 2025 elections approach, the PNP will continue its primary mission: to ensure peace and order, protect the public, and enforce the law—without any political interference.
