PLDT Enterprise brings in next-level digital solutions to sprouting businesses in Mindanao

PLDT ENTERPRISE and Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) introduced their “next-level communications” through their digital solutions, addressing the unique needs of growing businesses in Mindanao.

In a media roundtable, Josh Montecillo, PLDT Enterprise’s Wireless Product Management and Marketing head, said the summit mainly showcased the latest innovations of Smart, sharing that there has been a developing mobile network traffic in Mindanao.

“There were a lot of interested customers who really wanted to learn more about the services,” Montecillo said.

The Smart Messaging Suite, with A2P (application-to-person) Messaging Solutions, could seamlessly support diverse needs, from large-scale marketing campaigns to personalized notifications and secure verifications. The suite is powered by Soprano Design, the company’s technology partner.

Another innovation introduced was Samsung’s AI on mobile, which enhanced mobile connectivity by utilizing extensive networks to stay connected anywhere. This could further optimize operations and improve customer experience.

PLDT also partnered with Vectras, which introduced GPS tracking solutions and drove transformative efficiencies among businesses.

Jiggs Calixto, head for PLDT Customer Relationship Management in Mindanao, said the idea sprung up from understanding the Mindanao markets and customers for innovative solutions based on their recent pocket events.

“We were targeting 100 unique clients in Mindanao, and clients as far as Iligan, Cotabato, Surigao, they really went. We actually gathered about 200 attendees. We’ll do another one hopefully in Cagayan de Oro,” Calixto said.

Chet Alviz, PLDT Enterprise head and International Marketing VP, also highlighted that the first-ever wireless summit in Davao City will accelerate the campaign for the rest of the year.

“We had high hopes for Davao, we chose Davao specifically due to the data that we gathered, na tumataas ng 3 terabytes of data per day on enterprise. It just shows the progress and appetite, and the digital transformation that is seen within Davao and that’s what we want to amplify across the country,” Alviz added.

The event, dubbed the wireless summit, was held on August 1 at The Pinnacle Hotel, Davao City, and was attended by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and large corporations, among others.
