PhilHealth XI reports 237 delinquencies

THE PHILIPPINE Health Insurance Corporation XI (PhilHealth) has reported 237 delinquency cases of final demand letters this year in the region.

Based on the list of around 4,000 possible delinquency cases, 237 had been identified according to the PhilHealth FOD-collection section Atty. Mark Jim Manabat. He clarified that the cases are not necessarily for the entire year 2024 as they could vary from 1, 2, or 3 months within the year.

“We extend our patience to our employers so that within the year hopefully they can pay all their delinquencies,” he said during a media forum.

Manabat said that they will be forced to file cases against them if they fail to settle their delinquencies despite notice. No cases have been filed yet as PhilHealth is extending its leniency toward employers.

“We’ve already informed various employers that they are in line for case build-up and case filing,” he added.

The penalty is P50,000 per affected employee per violation with a decision of the court that the employer may be sent to prison. Manabat shared that the amount of P25.4 million will be collected in 2024.
