Philhealth XI assure enough funds to sustain services

THE PHILIPPINE Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) Davao assures clients of its continued services across accredited hospitals in the region.

During the Kapihan sa PIA on Monday, May 26, Kleah Guevarra, Philhealth public relations officer, said they are continuously paying their obligations and claims of the hospitals.

Binabayaran naman natin ang mga hospitalization at mga claims ng ating hospital, and that is our commitment in Philhealth that we will continue to provide our services, our obligation to pay the claims of the hospital,” Guevarra said.

Guevarra added that the 50% increase rate for almost 9,000 conditions across the board is part of their commitment despite the zero government subsidy for 2025.

One of the packages with increased benefits includes low-risk pneumonia, which is now at P29,250 from the previous P19,500. The kidney transplant package, which is formerly P600,000, is now at P800,000 to P2 million.

All the new case rate adjustments took effect on hospital admissions starting January 1, 2025.

Outpatient emergency cases are now also covered by the state health insurer, though the Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit (OECB) package was introduced late last year through PhilHealth Circular 2024-0033.

All outpatient emergency cases in accredited levels 1 to 3 hospitals are covered by PhilHealth’s Facility-Based Emergency. This covers all emergency cases that need management or care that is limited in the emergency room, and the patient does not need to be confined in the hospital.

“You can really see that the commitment is there; we will continue to provide the services that are due to our members,” Guevarra stressed.
