THE PUBLIC Employment Services Office (PESO) conducted a special recruitment activity for a recruitment agency offering various job vacancies bound for Australia at Davao City Recreation Center on Jan. 10.
In an interview, PESO head Lilibeth Pantinople said the Manila-based agency held a day-long roadshow for jobseekers who wished to work overseas.
The following jobs were offered: auto-electrician, fitter general, painter, welder/fabricator, truck mechanic, light vehicle mechanic, forklift mechanic, machinist, panel beater, spray painter, heavy vehicle technician, auto mechanic, machinist, forklift technician, [car] body builder, car mechanic, metal casting work, and fitter machinist.
She said jobseekers were asked to bring their “requirements, resume, transcript of records, NC-II kung naa sila, then a certificate of employment, photocopy sa ilahang passport, and should wear business attire.”
Pantinople said the activity in Almendras gym was the first recruitment event for 2024 but they partnered with other agencies to offer more opportunities to Davaoeños.
She added that Canada, Singapore, the Middle East, and the United States are actively looking for workers based on the market trend. Nurses, skilled workers, and cleaners are the most in-demand jobs in these countries.
