People’s Park to be closed for renovations: CENRO

THE CITY Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) Parks and Playground Division announced on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, that People’s Park will be closed soon to undergo enhancements.

Cenro Parks and Playground Division head Engr. Juancho Dagasohan said the City Government of Davao has allocated around P100 million to develop the park. However, there is no exact timeline for the park’s rehabilitation yet, and might start anytime this year.

Dagasohan shared that the City Engineer’s Office is in the final stages of planning.

He anticipated that the closure would affect the number of visitors such as those who want to exercise or jog in the park’s oval.

Cenro will also provide an entrance for the National Museum of the Philippines-Davao for visitors since it is located within the park.

Additionally, the agency also announced the opening of 28 parks in Davao City with visiting hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This also includes the launching of the Roxas Park before the upcoming Araw ng Dabaw as it is currently in its final touches and polishments.
