The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 confiscated over P59 million worth of illegal drugs in various operations across the Davao Region from January to July this year.
According to PDEA 11 data, a total of 1,880 anti-drug operations were conducted during this period, resulting in the arrest of 1,788 suspected drug offenders.
The agency seized 8,544.87 grams of shabu (methamphetamine) valued at over P58 million and 10,019.21 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth over P1.8 million, along with marijuana plants.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, PDEA 11 assistant regional director Benjamin Recites III highlighted the increase in anti-drug operations and expressed gratitude for the support of the Davao community.
“We are grateful for the cooperation and assistance of ordinary Dabawenyos in our fight against illegal drugs,” Recites stated.
“Their involvement is crucial in our efforts to curb drug-related activities in the region,” he added.
