THE CITY Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) unveiled on Sunday the official calendar of events for this year’s Pasko Fiesta sa Dabaw festivity.
This year’s edition of the annual celebration will officially kick off with the Dan-ag sa Davao ug Pag-abli sa Pasko on Nov. 28.
In an interview with Madayaw Davao, Jennifer Romero, CTOO officer-in-charge said the festivity will revolve around the theme “Enchanted Woodland: The Magic of the Forest in the Heart of the City” to highlight the creativity of participants in music, arts, and dance.
Romero added that Davaoeños can expect Christmas decorations surrounding City Hall grounds will include interactive designs, large reindeers, big gift boxes, and Santa’s sleigh.
The month-long celebration will feature 15 major events along with the annual Sing-Along ni Pulong.
Out of the events, CTOO prepared five competitions including Koro sa Pasko on Dec. 7; Banda Dasig on Dec. 15; Sayaw sa Pasko on Dec. 21; Pasko Panag-uban: a rhythm and joy showdown on Dec. 13.
This year added a new event, the Mugna sa Pasko on Dec. 15. Mugna sa Pasko is a Christmas-themed creative costume competition coinciding with the Parada sa Pasko which will fall on the same day.
On Nov. 29–30, and on Dec. 1, 14, and 24–29, the City Hall will be serenaded with Christmas songs with the Panayegon sa City Hall.
The Perya sa Pasko will also be open from Dec. 1-27, 5 p.m. at the Rizal Park open grounds.
Music in the Park, one of the additional activities for this year’s Pasko Fiesta, is set to kick off on December 7 at Magsaysay Park. The same will also take place in Quezon Park on Dec. 8; People’s Park on Dec. 13; Los Amigos Park on Dec. 14; Doña Vicenta Park on Dec. 20; Magsaysay Park on Dec. 21; and on Dec. 22 at the Bago Aplaya Esplanade Park.
A Grand Bazaar at the Esplanade Park, Bago Aplaya will be open from Dec. 26- 31.
The Christmas on Wheels or the Kasadya sa Pasko and Kalingawan sa Distrito will be on Dec. 16-21 in Calinan Gym, Barangay Crossing Bayabas, Barangay 76-A SIR Phase 1 Gym, Brgy. Catalunan Grande Gym, Barangay Cabantian Gym, and Barangay Paquibato Proper Gym, respectively.
Davaoeños are invited to join the Pasko Fiesta Year-End Party at the Bago Aplaya Coastal Road on Dec. 30 to officially close this year’s Pasko Fiesta.
