THE DEPARTMENT of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI released P2,420,880,428 to its 431,556 Davao Region beneficiaries in 2023 under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program.
Gemma Dela Cruz, DSWD XI Protective Services Division chief, said AICS provides medical assistance, educational assistance, food assistance, financial assistance, burial transportation, and other support services.
“In 2024, ongoing na din ‘yung provision of assistance for AICS and we continually assist our social workers to cater to those individuals who are in dire need,” Dela Cruz said.
Dela Cruz said the social pension program under AICS achieved 100% disbursement of grants as of Nov. 17 last year. The monthly social pension of P500 was released last March to June 2023 (First Semester) and from August to November 2023 (Second Semester), with a total of P6,000 to 289,700 beneficiaries, having a total disbursement of P1,738,200,000.
Also, the supplementary feeding program, with a budget allocation of P308,448,000, served 126,153 children beneficiaries in the region.
The agency had also served 101 clients with 59 active cases, exceeding its expected target of 100 with 129% of the total percentage of rehabilitated clients under the care facilities of the DSWD XI Protective Services Division.
