Over P5-M worth of shabu seized in various drug busts

AUTHORITIES confiscated over P5 million worth of shabu and apprehended two regional-level targets along with four others in separate buy-bust operations on Saturday, Aug. 11. 

The operations were conducted in Villa Josefina, Purok Sto. Niño, Barangay Dumoy, and Deca Homes Talomo.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), said the first operation in Villa Josefina targeted alias Gar, 34, and his live-in partner. 

Gar is considered a top drug personality at the regional level. His companion, alias Dennis, 37, was also apprehended.

The operation, conducted by Baliok police, resulted in the seizure of eight large sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P4,828,000.

Later that day, another regional-level target, alias Topher, 25, identified as a top nine regional-level target, was arrested along with three others in Deca Homes Talomo. The other suspects were identified as alias Raiza, 25; alias JC, 26; and alias Haiko, 22.

The Sasa Police Station seized 11 large sachets of shabu, including a jumbo-sized one, with an estimated value of P501,200. All suspects are currently in custody at their respective police stations. They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
