THE DEPARTMENT of Labor and Employment XI (DOLE) will offer a total of 2,453 job vacancies with 24 participating employees for this year’s Kalayaan Job Fair on June 12, 2025.
The job fair has 1,399 local and 1,054 overseas vacancies; customer support staff/service representatives continue to be the top local position in DOLE’s recent job fairs in Davao City, with 505 spots and 19 participating employers.
For overseas, the branch manager position is the highest demand among five other positions, with 558 vacancies from five participating employers bound for countries in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Croatia, and Japan.
DOLE XI regional director Randolf Pensoy shared that 30 Kadiwa seller-beneficiaries will be aided with financial assistance via the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displayed Workers (TUPAD) program that will be conducted outside of the SM City Davao event.
The agency partnered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Pag-IBIG, and others for the financial assistance.
DOLE XI’s Labor Force Survey in April 2025 has reported a labor force participation rate of 63.6%, which increased from 61.9% in the same period last year. Additionally, the employment rate climbed to 97.6%, unemployment dropped to 2.4%, and the underemployment rate was recorded at 3.9%.
Possible attributing factors in the region’s labor market shifts due to a sustained investment boom, particularly in Davao City, which continues to attract billions in capital flows.
According to Davao City Investment Promotions Center, the city attracted substantial investments of over P3.4B secured in 2024. The momentum extended to 2025 with P237M approved investments as of March.
