EIGHT individuals were arrested and a minor was rescued by the Sta. Ana police during “Oplan Ronda” conducted with barangay officials of Barangay Agdao Proper around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The operation targeted violators of the smoking ordinance, curfew, sobriety, and illegal drugs.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office, said two individuals were arrested for violating the Anti-Smoking Ordinance and five more were picked up for violating the Sobriety Ordinance. Meanwhile, the minor was rescued after being caught past the curfew hours.
Also, one individual was arrested for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
All DCPO units, including the Sta. Ana Police Station, regularly conducts Oplan Ronda in slum and coastal areas, as well as business establishments, to deter crime, enforce laws and local ordinances, and maintain peace and order.
The operation concluded around 1 a.m. on Nov. 20 with no reported incidents.
