THE SOCIAL Security System (SSS) partnered with banks and payment centers to make it easier for overseas Filipino workers to submit their contributions online.

During the media conference at SM Ecoland on May 12, 2024, Dennis Calo, the acting communication analyst of Social Security System-Davao, said the agency also extended the payment deadline for the OFWs.

For instance, the deadline from January to September will be on the last day of December while the payment deadline for October to December will be in January 2025.

The agency’s bank partners include the Asia United Bank (AUB), Bank of Commerce (BOC), and Philippine National Bank (PNB). For the non-banks, the iRemit, Inc., Pinoy Express Hatid, Padala Services Inc., Sky Freight Fowarders, Inc., Ventaja International Corporation (VIC), and LMI Express Delivery, Inc., for over-the-counter for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

He emphasized that SSS doesn’t have restrictions on the payer’s citizenship as long as they are registered workers or own a business in the country.

Moreover, the agency will now regularly implement the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign after noting a huge difference between the monthly and the yearly enforcement.

The said agency highly encouraged all employers, especially unregistered businesses to register and pay their contribution religiously to avoid legal consequences.
