THE POLICE Regional Office (PRO) XI maintained that there is no shabu laboratory in the region following the recent drug bust that yielded P44,451,600 worth of suspected shabu and two high-value drug personalities in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, on Feb. 15.

The operation, which took place at approximately 6:30 a.m., at Oakwood Residence, Purok 2, Barangay New Visayas, targeted two regional-level drug individuals in PRO XI’s priority High-Value Individual (HVI) list.

PRO XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey stated that the source of the seized shabu is outside the Davao Region but declined to provide further details.

The successful operation resulted in the confiscation of six zip-sealed transparent plastic bags and eight transparent plastic sachets containing a total of 6.5 kilos of suspected shabu.

Authorities also recovered one genuine Php 1,000 bill mixed with 199 counterfeit copies, 200 counterfeit Php 500 bills, one INFINIX smartphone, one weighing scale, and one gray plastic container.

The suspects are now in the custody of the Panabo City Police Station, Davao Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO) for proper disposition.

They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Brigadier General Leon Victor Z. Rosete, PRO XI regional director, reiterated their duty to eradicate illegal drugs.

“We will not waver in our fight against illegal drugs,” he stated. “We will be relentless in our pursuit of those who threaten the safety and the future of the people in the community, especially in the Davao Region.”
