THE PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency in Region (PDEA) XI welcomed its new director, Edgar T. Jubay, in a turnover ceremony held inside Camp Capt. Domingo Leonor headquarters on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024.
Outgoing director Naravy Duquiatan relinquished his post to Jubay, who was previously assigned to the PDEA V office.
The turnover ceremony took place at around 2 p.m.
PDEA XI spokesperson Nephi Noli Dimaandal said Duquiatan will be reassigned to PDEA Academy after two years as PDEA XI director.
As the lead anti-drug law enforcement agency, PDEA XI is responsible for preventing, investigating, and combating illegal drugs, controlled precursors, and essential chemicals within its jurisdiction.
The agency enforces the provisions of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA XI operates under the supervision of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the policy-making body for drug prevention and control in the Philippines.
Both PDEA and DDB are under the direct supervision of the Office of the President.
