NBI Official Welcomes Probe Amid Bribery Allegations

NBI 11 Regional Director Atty. Arcelito Albao has expressed his readiness to face an ongoing investigation following bribery allegations made by former Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) member Arlene Stone.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago confirmed that an ‘informal’ investigation is underway. Stone’s request for the probe followed NBI 11’s service of a warrant against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of KOJC in Davao City.

“Arlene Stone has posted a vlog claiming that she gave me money in the past. That is not true because I was not here at that time,” Albao told the TIMES.

In the video, Stone said that she herself handed the bribes, but that she was not sure if it continued after she left the KOJC.

For his part, Santiago said that Albao had no connections to former President Rodrigo Duterte as he was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in October 2022.

“Ngayon during the time ng appointment niya, Pastor Quiboloy is a known tumutulong. Mabait na tao. Wala naman siyang kaso noon, during those days. So ano bang masama na yung pastor ay tumutulong doon sa government agencies, giving them financial, whatever support. Yung sinasabi ni Stone na siya pa ang nag aabot,” explained Santiago during a press conference on Tuesday.

“I have no connection to either the pastor or PRRD, absolutely none,” he clarified. “We also aim to arrest the pastor and his co-accused. In fact, we were the ones who arrested them in April 2024, ” Albao said.

“I welcome the investigation because I know the allegations are false,” Albao stated. “KOJC had internal issues long before I arrived in Davao in October 2022,” he further said.
