CAPTAIN Junjie B. Tabuada has assumed command of Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) following a change of command ceremony held on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Naval Station Felix Apolinario in Davao City.
The ceremony, presided over by Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy, Vice Admiral Toribio D. Adaci Jr., saw Commodore Alfonspin P. Tumanda Jr. relinquish his command to Captain Junjie B. Tabuada.
Tabuada expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and vowed to continue the unit’s legacy of excellence in maritime security operations. He emphasized the importance of unity, teamwork, and collaboration in achieving success.
Adaci commended Tumanda for his outstanding service and significant contributions to territorial defense, maritime security, and anti-insurgency operations during his tenure.
He also highlighted the strong partnerships Tumanda forged with other agencies.
The ceremony, attended by key military officers, members of the diplomatic corps, and other distinguished guests, concluded with a presentation of awards, full military honors, and a traditional pass-in-review to honor Commodore Tumanda’s exemplary service to the Philippine Navy and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
