The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), through the Naval Reserve Center – Eastern Mindanao (NRCen-EM), officially kicked off the Mobilization Training and Exercise 2024 on August 17 at Naval Station Felix Apolinario in Panacan.
This four-day exercise, running until August 20, showcases the vital capabilities of 230 Philippine Navy reservists.
Lt. Commander Jerome Bryan Mauring, NFEM Public Affairs Office chief, said these reservists will be integrated into regular naval operations and will provide essential support in medical, dental, legal, and humanitarian assistance fields.
Commodore Alfonspin Tumanda Jr., commander of NFEM, stressed the importance of this exercise.
“This training allows our reservists to sharpen their skills and ensure their readiness to respond to a wide spectrum of challenges, from natural disasters to security threats,” he said.
“It highlights not only their preparedness but also the crucial role they play in safeguarding our communities during emergencies,” he added.
Throughout the exercise, reservists will actively mobilize and work alongside the regular force, training to effectively address various threat situations and emergency crises.
