- Police investigate fatal stabbing of a woman in Ecoland
THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) launched an investigation into the circumstances behind the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old online seller near Jollibee-Sandawa at approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 31.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the DCPO spokesperson, identified the victim as Cinderela Esteban Rosales, a resident of Purok Maharlika, Barangay Cuambogan, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
The victim’s husband told police investigators they had just arrived from a commuter van from Asuncion, Davao de Norte. Their original plan was to make their way to Matan-ao, Davao del Sur.
However, the victim complained of stomach pain, prompting him to take their one-year-old son and leave her and buy medicine from a nearby pharmacy. When he returned moments later, he was shocked to find a crowd gathering around his wife who was already lying on the ground.
He said the victim previously received threats from an unknown individual, which the police are currently investigating.
Investigators also hoped the CCTV captured the attack and possibly unmasked the perpetrator.
Rosales’ body was transported to Villa Funeral Parlor in Toril for autopsy.
