A 38-YEAR-OLD motorcycle rider was injured after smashing into the back of a trailer truck in front of Sumifru, Km. 20, Barangay Tibungco, early Friday morning.
Police identified him as Jessie Antonio Machon of Purok 1. New Bantayan, Asuncion, Davao del Norte.
Initial reports from the Bunawan Police Station revealed that both the Isuzu Prime Mover Truck driven by Roberto Aleazar Suarez Jr., 45, and Machon’s Yamaha Mio motorcycle were traveling northbound in the inner lane.
As the truck slowed to turn right into Sumifru, Machon’s motorcycle rear-ended the trailer. He sustained injuries and bruises and was transported to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for treatment.
The truck and driver Suarez are currently detained at Bunawan Police Station as the investigation progresses.
