THE MINDANAO Popular (MinPop) Music Festival 2024 kicks off to electrify and promote the local music and artists of Mindanao at SM Lanang on August 15 to 17.
According to MinPop founder and festival director Jeremy Sarmiento, the musical festival not only showcases the local craft music of the artists in Mindanao but also to educate people to love and appreciate hyper localism in Mindanao.
“It’s basically a gathering of songwriters wherein they can perform their crafts,their music. So basically we celebrate songwriters and their songs,” he said.
MinPop Music Festival 2024 will help Davao artists to be recognized more in the music spotlight of Mindanao as well as to help promote their songs.
MinPop partnered with SM Lanang the music festival event for the mall to be a platform and venue to feature local artists, talents, and music hits. The MinPop Music Festival 2024 was originally planned for summer but was moved to the 39th Kadayawan Festival celebration.
He added that the participants to join MinPop Music Festival 2024 are from Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro, Siargao, and many more for the grand finals. There will also be invited guests for the grand finals such as Arthur Nery a Filipino singer and songwriter from Cagayan de Oro who is also known for his advocacies and songwriting workshops.
He also clarified that there is no age bracket for the music festival as long as the participants know songwriting or have experience in songwriting.
MinPop Music Festival 2024 will initiate at SM Lanang North Wing Grounds (Fountain area) from August 15 to 17 starting at 4pm.
