THE CITY government is making vaccination against COVID-19 in barangay health centers as “semi-permanent” immunization activity.

Mayor Sara Duterte said on Monday said the city government will eventually stop vaccination activities in identified sites and will transfer these to barangay health centers. This will complement the mobile and door-to-door vaccinations.

The outgoing mayor said the city government decided to transfer the vaccination sites to the barangay health centers so that activities in areas where these have been conducted could be used for the purpose that they were set up.

“Akoa na silang gi-instructionan na maghinay-hinay na sila og wrap-up sa atoang vaccine jabs and mobalhin dinha sa atoang mga health centers para mahimong semi-permanent ang availability sa atoang mga bakuna sa atoang health centers,” she explained as the city government has 12 public vaccination sites: nine malls, two parks and a public elementary school.

She, however, said that the vaccination cluster will be the one to implement her order as she expects this to start within next week. “Mao palang na siya ang instruction nato, taking effect will be more than a week kay dili man ingon ana kadali mag-transfer ug personnel and sistema sa atoang health center,” she said.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the COVID-19 Task Force said the body has discussed the order of the mayor.
