MAYOR | COVID-19 patients can pay to stay in designated hotels

MAYOR Sare Duterte on Monday said those who have mild cases of COVID-19 and those who are asymptomatic can pay their stay in hotels converted as a temporary treatment and monitoring facilities (TTMFs).

“I would like to announce that our pay TTMF is open to those who do not like the facilities we provide,” Duterte said over the Davao City Disaster Radio.

She said the facility is the solution of the city government for those who can afford and do not want to be admitted to other facilities which were set up for free.

The mayor made the announcement as the city government is expecting the rise in the number of cases as a result of the celebrations during the yuletide season.

She added that those who can afford can just pay and get a hotel-like accommodation.

She noted that based on the figures, the number of active cases in the city is increasing. “Duna silay expectation na motaas pa kini up to February. Mao ni ang gi-expect na surge tungod sa Christmas holiday,” she said.

On Sunday evening, the regional office of the Department of Health reported that the region had 231 new cases of COVID-19, 135 of them from the city, 51 from Davao del Norte, 24 from Davao de Oro, 15 from Davao del Sur and six from Davao Oriental.
