Marcos vows support for military modernization during Davao visit

PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the 10th Infantry Division headquarters in Mawab, Davao de Oro, on Thursday, June 6. 

During his visit, he pledged government support by providing necessary resources and training programs to further develop the capabilities of Filipino soldiers.

He also highlighted the importance of bolstering the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for potential external threats, reflecting a shift from primarily internal operations.

Major General Allan Hambala, the 10th Infantry Division commander, briefed the President on the division’s achievements.

Hambala committed to ending the remaining insurgency within the area by the end of June 30.

President Marcos was accompanied by Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo and AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr.
