
THE MUNICIPALITY of Maramag, Bukidnon, was officially declared insurgency-free through Municipal Peace and Order Council Resolution No. 2024-014 and Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 2025-710 during a ceremonial event held at the Municipal Gymnasium in Maramag on March 7, 2025.
According to the resolution, all 20 barangays in the municipality have successfully designated the New People’s Army (NPA) and its affiliates as persona non grata.
Various sectors, including the business community, religious groups, Indigenous Peoples, and the youth, have expressed their full support for this declaration.
Major General Allan Hambala, commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, emphasized that the Whole-of-Nation Approach played a crucial role in reducing insurgent activities in Maramag by 70%.
He noted that there have been zero incidents or sightings of armed groups for over a year.
“To the people of Maramag, this peace belongs to you. Protect it, stay vigilant, and work together to build a future where every child can dream big, every farmer can harvest without fear, and every family can live in peace,” Hambala stated.
Additionally, the Municipal Government of Maramag reaffirmed its commitment to driving further growth and progress, ensuring that the municipality continues to thrive in a peaceful and secure environment.
Maramag is the seventh municipality in Bukidnon to be declared insurgency-free, following San Fernando, Kadingilan, Damulog, Dangcagan, Kibawe, and Don Carlos.
