Cindy Mae Dumapias

MANILA BULLETIN will conduct the Sketchfest 2024 for enthusiastic young and old artists on Filipino mythology art on August 31 at SM Ecoland Annex Center.

On August 19 at Kapehan sa Dabaw, Manila Bulletin marketing and sales Cindy May Dumapias said that the event aims to highlight the old Filipino culture and folklore as well as the importance of Philippine mythology in understanding historical culture and traditions.

This year’s sketchfest focuses on the mythical tales and legends of the Philippines.

Dumapias noted that there are many talented artists in Davao City. She also observed a high number of eager participants not only Davaoeños but also participants outside of Davao City who participate in sketchfests.

Manila Bulletin expects 200 to 300 participants inside and outside of Davao City to join the Sketchfest 2024. Filipino artist and sculptor Kublai Millan will also be one of the judges for the event.

The Sketchfest 2024 is a nationwide sketching and art competition with scheduled events in the Philippines on August 31 for Davao City, September 28 for Cebu City, and October 20 for Manila.

Sketchfest 2024 will be free and will start at 10 am to 3 pm on August 31 with registrations at 6 am to 10 am.

The event is composed of three major categories; Digital, Exhibition, and On-the-Spot. On-the-Spot categories are Kiddie (12 years and above), Junior (13 to 18 years old), and Senior (19 years old and above). Digital category is open to all ages while the Exhibition category is 16 years old and above.

Cash prizes and SM gift certificates will be given to winners of the major categories. A special prize of AirAsia #alwaysREADY award will also be given to one winner of two round-trips to any domestic destination.
